The State of Affairs: Well…
Hello Internet land, things may be moving quickly. Where to start?
After posting my guest article over at my friend Les's blog, I got an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. As of late last week, I was still receiving emails from people reaching out to let me know that what I was doing mattered in some way. I can't even begin to articulate how validating that was. To anyone who emailed me reading this, thank you.
One of the people to email me was a friend of Les's named Agnes, who wants to start a writing critique group and invited me… Which is amazing. I've written everything up to this point almost completely cut off from outside feedback. I mean, I've had friends and family encourage me and tell me they liked what I've written, but nothing REALLY critical aside from one or two other people. So I'm pretty excited about that as well.
Most recently, and possibly most astoundingly is something I should probably keep close to my chest until it actually materializes. If it does indeed happen, it will be really exciting and slightly terrifying. Definitely something out of my comfort zone, but if I want this book to be successful that's a place I'm going to have to go to quite a bit. Stay tuned for whatever the mystery thing maybe. Yes, I know cliffhangers are a hack writer tactic. Deal with it.
Before I publish this, I want to take the opportunity to thank Les for mercilessly promoting my writing and building me up for the world. It will probably turn out that the world will end up being a bit disappointed after finding out that the legend that Les is constructing for me is a little bit larger than life, but regardless, this kind of promotion is not something I could ever do for myself. If you have the time, go check out some of this other blog entries.
I don't know why I'm bothering to promote his site, I have about 1 reader for every 1000 of his, but hey… It's the thought that counts right?
